Too many of British Columbia’s iconic species are in decline, with populations of steelhead and caribou at risk of extinction. The proportion of B.C.’s budget allocated for natural resource management has been in decline for 50 years, leaving wildlife chronically underfunded. The B.C. Wildlife Federation is demanding change before our iconic wildlife species disappear forever. We will be hosting a Town Hall near you. Engage with your local candidates and demand: ▪ Wildlife management should be conducted by an agency independent of government. ▪ Funding dedicated to fish and wildlife management should be increased and driven by legislated objectives. ▪ Public access to public resources must be enshrined in law.
